Industry Engagement
&
Scientific Advisory
Our research program engages with Indian and global pharmaceutical, chemical, biotech, and natural-product industries to support complex scientific questions in peptide chemistry, NMR spectroscopy, and molecular characterization.

Led by Dr. Udaya Kiran Marelli, Principal Scientist with over 20 years of experience, we focus on scientific interpretation, structural clarity, and data-driven decision support areas that are often critical during process development, impurity investigation, regulatory preparation, and IP review.
Our industry interactions are research-oriented, analytical/technology service projects, and advisory in nature, emphasizing problem understanding, technical evaluation, and critical data evaluation.

Industry-Relevant Expertise
Industry-facing scientific support has included:
-
Structural interpretation by advanced NMR of peptides, APIs, intermediates, impurities, saccharides/carbohydrates, and polymers
-
Assessment of stereochemistry, diastereomeric mixtures, and conformational behavior
-
Peptide characterization and structure–conformation studies relevant to development pipelines
-
Critical review of NMR data supporting
-
Drug Master Files (DMFs)
-
Regulatory submissions
-
Patent applications and responses
-
-
NMR-based benchmarking of natural products, including Indian honeys, for quality, authenticity, and differentiation

These engagements typically arise during development bottlenecks, regulatory queries, or IP-related clarifications, where high-level scientific judgement is required.

Mode of Industry Interaction
Industry engagement is guided by:
-
Rigorous scientific reasoning and independent analysis
-
Confidential, review-based discussions
-
Alignment with institutional research responsibilities and frameworks
Interactions are commonly short-duration, problem-specific, and discussion-driven, and may serve as a precursor to formal institutional collaboration, where appropriate.

Scope for Interaction
Engagements are most effective when industry partners seek:
-
Expert interpretation of complex or ambiguous NMR data
-
Scientific input during regulatory or patent-driven review stages
-
Exploratory evaluation of challenging peptide or small-molecule systems
-
Pre-competitive technical discussions to clarify feasibility or direction
Initial interactions typically focus on scoping the scientific issue and identifying suitable pathways for further engagement.
